IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR APPLE DEVICE USERSIn order for this app run properly on your iPhone, you must follow these steps AFTER installing the app by clicking on the link below. Apple requires for the app NOT to be on the App Store because this app is specific to members of the Austin Police Association and is not for the general public.
1. Go to your iPhone's SETTINGS.
2. Select "General".
3. Select "Device Management".
4. Select "Austin Police Association".
5. Click on "Trust Austin Police Association".

SIGNUP PROCESS:
1. APA members who have not yet downloaded the APP can go to www.apaapp.org from your mobile device to download the APP. You will not be able to download the APP on a desk top computer, it must be from your cell phone. When you get to the APP screen you will see the APA Badge and APA ADMINISTRATOR LOGIN. You will NOT login instead scroll down to the bottom and click on the DOWNLOAD APP that corresponds to your device and you will be directed to the Google Play Store or if you have an Apple device you will be asked to install a file directly onto your phone. The app is not on iTunes or the App Store since an Enterprise license was required.
2. After the APP is installed, click on the icon to open the APP. If you are on an iPhone you will get an error message saying "UNTRUSTED ENTERPRISE DEVELOPER. Go to your iPhone's SETTINGS, select "General" option; then select "Devise Management"; then select "Austin Police Association"; last Click on "Trust Austin Police Association."
3. Next, after the APP is installed and loaded, you need to create a profile, your information will be securely sent to Gina Romero, APA's Admin., to be approved. This approval process may take anywhere from 2 hours to two days depending on when the submission was received.
4. Upon approval, you will be sent a text message and email. The email will contain a temporary password. Once you have logged into the APA APP, you will be able to edit your password in the EDIT PROFILE section.
IMPORTANT INFO ON THE APA APP:
APA APP SIGN-UP APPROVALS ONLY DURING BUSINESS HOURS: While you will be able to download the APP immediately from www.apaapp.org we will be approving APA APP signups manually during APA business hours, which may result in delayed access to the app.
APA APP PRIVACY: This tool is to be utilized by active APA members ONLY, who are uniquely identified by individual employee numbers. Members will only be allowed one account per employee number, and will only be able to login with one device at a time.
APA APP ISSUES: If you are having trouble with any functions of the APA APP, please use the CONTACT US tile contained inside the APP to contact the APPLICATION DEVELOPER (this does NOT connect you to the APA office, but to our technical administrator.)

Edit Profile Section:
Please make sure your profile information is correct, as this information will be compared to the APA database and edited accordingly. You will NOT be able to change the email address in the EDIT PROFILE section as it is a unique identifier. Please contact Gina Romero at the APA office 512-474-6993 if you need to change your email address.Edit Notifications Section:
In this section, you can control which notifications you are alerted about from the APA APP.Instant Alerts:
These are short messages that we will use to alert our APA members of immediate situations within the department and association.APA Secondary Employment:
Secondary employment opportunities will be listed here and the user will be able to sign up for these opportunities through the APA APP.
Sign Up:
An alert will go out notifying members that a job listing has been posted, when you click on the assignment, it will have date, time, location, pay rate and a description of the assignment. At the bottom of the listing will be a sign-up button. Once you hit the sign-up button, the job that you signed up for will be highlighted in RED. It is up to the member to keep record of any assignments that you sign up for, no reminders will be sent out. There is a 36-hour max that you can work through the APA a year (Jan. 1st - Dec. 31st). Once you have exceeded those hours, you will need to get approval from the APA staff to work additional assignments if needed. Within this section is a list of apartment complexes with opportunities for "courtesy officer" positions. If you fill one of these positions, please let Gina Romero at the APA office know so that we can take the listing off of the APP.
